PE and Sport Premium

SPORTS FUNDING

What is School Sports Premium?
The government is providing funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sports in primary schools.  This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media, and Sport – will be allocated to primary school head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE within their schools.

What is the purpose of this funding?
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.  At Tithe Barn we recognise that P.E. plays an integral part in the well-being of all of our children.  We aim to incorporate physical education across our creative curriculum often linking it to our class themes where possible.  We offer a wide and varied choice of extra-curricular activities run by qualified and experienced external agencies.  As we understand that leading a healthy and active lifestyle can have a positive impact on the concentration, learning and attitude of all children.
